In 2022, after completing 26 years of service for the Paterson Police Department, I retired at the rank of lieutenant and am now able to devote all of my time to our CFPV athletes.

I discovered CrossFit late in 2007 while researching the different physical assessment tests that the military and other law enforcement agencies use. Like thousands of other people, I tried a few workouts, felt devastated and never looked back.

My story continues like so many others. I got together with two friends at our old high school (Passaic Valley Regional High School) and started to do the WOD on a pretty regular basis. Before long, we had three more people start meeting us and we purchased a few pieces of gear. After about a year, our wives began to do scaled versions of the WOD with us and that is when things really took off. Our wives brought a few of their friends and by the fall of 2009 there were more than ten of us who were meeting five days a week to “crossfit” together. With winter approaching, we were worried what was going to happen to our outdoor workouts so we found  a one-car garage, but by the spring we outgrew that and moved into a two-car garage.

After space became an issue there the next natural step was to find a building and become an affiliate with CrossFit. Every single person in our group was behind the idea one hundred percent and told me that they would support me every step of the way. This experience has been amazing. Our little group of family, co-workers, friends and friends of friends already have that sense of community that takes time to develop in new affiliates.

My goal is to take advantage of my experience and share what I’ve learned over the past eight years of coaching and provide you with the highest possible level of instruction. I promise we can help you accomplish things that you never thought you could ever do.

CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CrossFit Kids Trainer, CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Trainer, CrossFit Rowing Trainer, CrossFit Kettlebell Trainer, CrossFit Movement and Mobility Trainer, CrossFit Scaling Course, M.A. Counseling, B.S. Secondary Education/English, Supervisor of Guidance and Language Arts at Ridgefield Park Jr-Sr  High School

My wife, Jamie, has always been an athlete. The majority of her athletic career was that of a high school volleyball coach for 12 years.  After listening to me talk about CrossFit incessantly, she finally gave in and decided to give it a try after the birth of our daughter in early 2009.  Since her first workout at the local P.A.L. field, she quickly became addicted.

For someone who has been a coach, a teacher and now a counselor, it is Jamie’s second nature to want to see people improve, achieve their goals, gain confidence and become better at whatever it is they choose.  Because of this, it was a passion to be a coach at CFPV.  To efficiently and effectively be able to help her athletes and continually provide them with the fundamentals of certain movements, she has completed several CrossFit trainer’s courses and is looking forward to more specialty courses soon.
